Nova Southeastern University – Bachelor of Science in Biology. Palmer College of Chiropractic – Doctor of Chiropractic, Cum Laude–Board Certified Chiropractic Acupuncturist, RockTape – Fascial Movement Taping, Levels 1 & 2 Dr. Grant Johnson was born and raised in Big Lake, Minnesota. Wanting to explore more of the country after graduating high school, he moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Dr. Johnson then went on to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Florida where he graduated with honors and obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. Dr. Johnson utilizes a variety of Chiropractic techniques including Diversified, Gonstead, Thompson, and Activator. He believes in treating the whole person through a multi-faceted approach to patient care, which is why he has additional training in Graston Technique, Kinesio Tape, and Dry Needling. Dr. Johnson’s passion is to provide Chiropractic care to people of all ages. He believes the body has the innate ability to heal itself, given that it is functioning at an optimal level. As a Chiropractor, his job is to restore and maintain the integrity of the nervous system, which in turn allows optimal body function. Outside of the office, Dr. Johnson enjoys activities including hiking, skiing, snow-shoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. He is always looking for new places to explore, so feel free to share your favorite recommendations with him at your next appointment.
Dr. Johnson trained at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida and graduated cum laude, and he went on to board certification in chiropractic acupuncture. What that adds up to in practice is a clinician who does not treat the adjustment as the whole visit. Muscle, fascia and the way a joint is loaded during the rest of your day all get examined, because a segment that keeps going back to where it started is usually being pulled there by something.
He describes his own approach as treating the whole person, and the questions he asks reflect that: what you do for work, what you do for exercise, how you sleep, and what changed in the weeks before the pain started. Care plans get shorter when the cause is found, and that is the point of asking.
The problems he sees most are lower back pain, neck pain, sciatica, herniated discs, headaches and migraines and injuries after a car accident.
Three techniques are used here, and which one you get depends on you rather than on habit. Diversified is the hands-on adjustment most people picture, with the audible release. Drop-table, also called Thompson, uses a table section that drops a short distance so the force needed is much lower. Activator is a small spring-loaded instrument that delivers a single controlled impulse and no twisting at all — which is what makes it the usual choice for someone nervous, someone older, or a joint too irritable to handle more.
Two other things are available alongside: spinal decompression, a motorised traction table used for disc-related leg or arm symptoms, and dry needling for the muscular component that survives the adjustment.
The part that matters most is what happens when Chiropractic is not the answer. Physical Therapy, Pain Management and Acupuncture are in the same building and on the same chart, so a change of direction is a conversation rather than a new referral and another wait.

No referral is needed for Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, Pain Management or Acupuncture, and our goal is to get you in within the same week.
Mountain View Pain Center is contracted with Medicare and with most major commercial plans, and we also work with personal-injury liens and workers’ compensation. Medicare covers spinal manipulation only — not the examination, the modalities or the therapies around it, which are billed separately. Our team can verify your benefits before your first visit.
Availability changes from week to week, so the honest answer is to ask. Request an appointment online and say you would like to see Dr. Johnson, or call and our team will tell you what is open at Central Park. No referral is needed, and our goal is to get you in within the same week.
At our Central Park clinic in Denver. Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, Acupuncture and Pain Management are all Mountain View Pain Center service lines, so if your care needs to move between them it moves on one chart rather than starting over somewhere else.
No. Chiropractic at Mountain View Pain Center does not require a referral, and neither do Physical Therapy, Pain Management or Acupuncture. If your own plan requires one, our team will tell you when they verify your benefits.
Medicare covers spinal manipulation only. The examination, imaging and any therapies performed alongside the adjustment are not covered under Medicare for chiropractic, so our team goes through what is covered and what is not before your first visit rather than after it.
Then you are told that at the first visit rather than after six weeks of it. Physical Therapy and Pain Management are in the same practice, and a hand-off between them is a note on your chart, not a new referral and a new waiting list.
