Sciatica Is the Reason Most People Call

More people come to this clinic for leg pain than for back pain, and the distinction matters more than it sounds.

Pain running from the low back into the buttock and down the leg is a symptom with at least four common causes: a lumbar disc pressing on a nerve root, spinal stenosis narrowing the canal, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, and piriformis involvement. Stenosis, and Why It Is Different

A specific note for an older catchment: leg pain and heaviness that comes on when you walk and eases when you sit down or lean over a trolley is usually stenosis, not disc pain. It is managed differently, it responds to different loading, and adjusting it as though it were a disc problem tends not to help.

Range of motion, orthopaedic testing, and neurological screening whenever symptoms travel below the knee or into the hand.

Techniques available: diversified manual adjustment, instrument-assisted adjustment where no manual thrust is wanted, drop-table technique, flexion-distraction for disc-related low back pain, soft-tissue and myofascial work, and home exercise. The examination determines which of these you get.
