Neuropathies Treatment
Neuropathies Treatment Starts Here
Neuropathies are conditions that affect nerve function and can cause burning pain, tingling, numbness, sensitivity, or weakness. Symptoms may involve the feet, hands, legs, arms, or face, and different neuropathies have different causes and treatment approaches. At Mountain View Pain Center, we help clarify your symptom pattern and build a plan focused on relief, function, and next steps.
Common Symptoms of Neuropathies
Burning, tingling, or “pins and needles”
Numbness in hands/feet or along a specific path
Electric or shooting pain
Sensitivity to touch or temperature
Symptoms that worsen at night (common)
Weakness, cramping, or fatigue (in some cases)
Balance changes or unsteadiness (in some cases)
Symptoms that radiate from the neck or low back (often spine-related)
How We Evaluate Neuropathies
We start by mapping where symptoms occur, what triggers them, and how they affect function. Your visit may include movement testing and a neurologic screen (strength, sensation, reflexes). We also evaluate common sources of nerve irritation (spine, hips, wrists/elbows) depending on where symptoms occur. If findings suggest additional testing or referral is appropriate (imaging, nerve testing, labs, or specialty coordination), we’ll guide the next steps.
When to Seek Urgent Care
Seek urgent evaluation if you have sudden one-sided weakness, facial droop, slurred speech, severe headache, sudden loss of balance, loss of bowel/bladder control, saddle numbness, or rapidly worsening symptoms.
How We Treat Neuropathies
Treatment depends on the type of neuropathy and what’s contributing to symptoms, but the goal is consistent: reduce irritation, improve comfort, and support function.
Pain Management
Options to help manage nerve-related pain and improve quality of life when appropriate.
Physical Therapy
Strength, mobility, balance, and nerve-supportive movement strategies tailored to symptom location and goals.
Chiropractic Care
Hands-on care to support mobility and reduce tension patterns, tailored to symptoms and comfort.
Acupuncture
A supportive option that may help reduce discomfort and improve relaxation as part of a broader plan.
Treatments We Commonly Recommend
Symptom pattern + trigger management plan
Mobility and strengthening for stability and mechanics
Balance training when needed
Ergonomic coaching for posture, work, and sleep setup
Nerve mobility work when appropriate
Coordinated next steps when additional medical evaluation is needed
Home Care & Quick Relief
Stay gently active and avoid long periods of inactivity
Ice for 10–15 minutes at a time during flare-ups if it helps discomfort
Take posture breaks and avoid holding one position too long
Prioritize sleep consistency (night symptoms are common)
Reduce fall risk at home if balance is affected
