University of Wisconsin La Crosse – Bachelor of Science in Biology, South College – Master of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Jesse Sheldon is a Physician Assistant who grew up in Viroqua, Wisconsin. He attended the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse for his undergraduate studies where he received his Bachelors degree and continued his education at South College in Knoxville, Tennessee where he received his Masters degree. Prior to becoming a PA, Jesse gained medical experience working as a CNA, with most of his time spent caring for residents with dementia in memory care units, as well as working as a Laboratory Support Tech in a hospital setting. He brings experience as a PA, previously working in a neurosurgery setting before relocating to Colorado. Jesse enjoys bringing compassion and building a trusting relationship while caring for patients. His favorite part of being a PA is seeing and helping patients regain their best quality of life. In his free time, he enjoys spending most of his time outdoors hiking with his dog, Toby. He also enjoys paddle boarding, kayaking, skiing, traveling, and exploring everything Colorado has to offer.
Most people arriving with a spine problem are carrying a quiet fear that surgery is where this ends. Jesse worked in a neurosurgery setting before relocating to Colorado, so he can be specific rather than reassuring: what an operation involves, what it does and does not fix, and the far more common situation in which it is not indicated at all.
That cuts both ways, and it is the more useful half. Knowing the surgical thresholds also means recognizing the presentation that genuinely needs a surgeon’s opinion, and saying so early rather than after months of treating around it.
Before medicine he worked as a nursing assistant, most of that time in dementia memory care. It is unglamorous training in explaining something to a person who is finding explanation hard — which describes a great many people in pain more accurately than anyone likes to admit.
The conditions he sees are lower back pain, neck pain, sciatica and nerve pain, herniated discs, arthritis and joint pain, hip pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, peripheral neuropathy and headaches and migraines.
Jesse’s visits start with an examination and a diagnosis. His first job is working out which structure is generating the pain, because that is what decides the plan — and imaging you bring is read alongside the examination rather than in place of it.
Visits cover evaluation, medication management and ongoing pain care. Where an image-guided procedure — epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, joint injections, trigger point injections and radiofrequency ablation — is the right next step, it is scheduled at Northglenn or Interquest in north Colorado Springs, which are the Colorado clinics where those are performed in office.
Physical Therapy, Chiropractic and Acupuncture are in the same building, so where the answer is rehabilitation rather than a needle it is a handover rather than another referral and another wait.
Jesse sees patients at Lone Tree. That page lists the address, the hours and what a first visit involves.

At our Lone Tree clinic. Lone Tree is not one of the four clinics where image-guided procedures are performed, so if one turns out to be the right next step it is scheduled at Northglenn or Interquest.
No. Pain Management at Mountain View Pain Center does not require a referral, and neither do Chiropractic, Physical Therapy or Acupuncture. If your own plan requires one, our team will tell you when they verify your benefits.

Almost certainly not. Most spine and joint pain is managed without an operation, and the whole point of a pain-management evaluation is to work out which of the non-surgical options fits your particular problem. Where a presentation does warrant a surgeon’s opinion, Jesse will say so directly and help you get there rather than keep treating around it.
