Rochester Institute of Technology- Bachelor of Science in Biology. Arcadia University – Master of Medical Science Physician Assistant Studies. Kylie May is a Physician Assistant from upstate New York in the beautiful Adirondack mountains. She received an Army ROTC scholarship and earned her undergraduate degree from Rochester Institute of Technology in biology. She served in the Army Reserves as an adjutant while attending graduate school at Arcadia University. After earning her certification as a Physician Assistant with a Master of Medical Science she served as an active-duty PA in the United States Army. She operated an aid station while deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and learned invaluable clinical skills that she used as a primary care provider for the next sixteen years. She completed a Pain Fellowship in 2014 that ultimately led her back to working in Pain Management today. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her dog, Copernicus and seeing live music.
Pain very rarely turns up on its own. It arrives alongside the blood pressure tablets, the sleep that went first, the knee that changed how someone walks, and the thing they have not mentioned because they assumed it was unrelated. Sixteen years as a primary care provider is sixteen years of holding all of that in view at once, and it is the habit Kylie brought with her into pain medicine.
The fellowship is the other half. Formal pain training on top of a long general background means the specialist question — which structure is generating this, and what would change it — gets asked without losing sight of the person it is being asked about. Both halves matter, and in practice they mostly show up as a longer first appointment than people expect.
The conditions she sees are lower back pain, neck pain, sciatica and nerve pain, herniated discs, arthritis and joint pain, hip pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, peripheral neuropathy and headaches and migraines.
Kylie’s visits start with an examination and a diagnosis. Her first job is working out which structure is generating the pain, because that is what decides the plan — and imaging you bring is read alongside the examination rather than in place of it.
Visits cover evaluation, medication management and ongoing pain care. Where an image-guided procedure — epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, joint injections, trigger point injections and radiofrequency ablation — is the right next step, it is scheduled at Northglenn or Interquest in north Colorado Springs, which are the Colorado clinics where those are performed in office.
Physical Therapy, Chiropractic and Acupuncture are in the same building, so where the answer is rehabilitation rather than a needle it is a handover rather than another referral and another wait.
Kylie sees patients at Wadsworth. That page lists the address, the hours and what a first visit involves.

It is the ordinary case rather than a complication, and it is squarely what Kylie’s background prepares her for. Sixteen years in primary care before a pain fellowship means the other conditions, and everything already being taken for them, are read as part of the picture rather than as someone else’s department. Bring the full medication list — it usually shapes the plan more than anything else you bring.
