Whichever state you are in, the one question this page can answer directly is the chiropractic one, because it catches people out: under Medicare, chiropractic coverage is spinal manipulation only. The examination, imaging and any therapies performed alongside the adjustment are billed separately and are not covered under that benefit. Networks change every year. A plan that was in network last year may not be this year, and the reverse is just as common. It is the reason we say call to confirm rather than publishing a list that would be stale by January.
Authorization is more common than on commercial plans. Medicare Advantage plans review procedures and advanced imaging more closely. Our team submits it, tracks it and tells you what is outstanding rather than leaving you to ask.
HMO and PPO products behave differently. An HMO product usually routes specialty care through a primary care physician with a referral on file; a PPO product usually does not. We do not require a referral either way, but your plan may.

Bring your insurance card and a photo ID, any imaging you already have with the report that goes with it, and a list of what you take. If a car accident is involved, bring your claim number and your adjuster’s name.
