"Low back pain" describes a location, not a single problem, and the usual sources behave differently. A facet joint tends to hurt on standing and arching backward, often worst in the morning. A disc tends to hurt on sitting and forward bending. The sacroiliac joint produces a one-sided ache low down. Muscle guarding can sit on top of any of them and make the pattern harder to read.

We use instrument-assisted adjustment, drop-table technique and mobilisation as well as traditional manual adjustment. For many patients here the low-force options are the appropriate choice rather than the fallback.
If you have been put off by the idea of being manipulated, or told that Chiropractic is not for you, that is worth a conversation. Gentler techniques are available on request.
A spine with established degenerative change, reduced bone density or a history of surgery is not treated the way a young and otherwise healthy one is. High-velocity manual thrusting can be entirely inappropriate, and screening for bone density risk, vascular considerations and prior fusion matters before anyone touches anything.
That is not a reason to avoid Chiropractic care. Mobility, joint restriction and soft-tissue work all still respond. It is a reason to be examined properly first, and to be treated by someone who will use a gentler technique when a gentler technique is what is called for.
A previous spinal fusion is usually workable with modifications. Tell us where and when it was done, and bring the operative report if you have it.
A patient on eight other prescriptions is a different problem from a thirty-year-old with a disc. Interactions matter, kidney and liver function matter, and fall risk matters — a medication that reduces pain and increases the chance of a fracture has not helped.
We would rather treat the structure than sedate the person, which is a large part of why interventional and physical options are on the table at all.

That popping sound is just gas releasing from the joint, the same thing that happens when you crack your knuckles. It's not bones grinding or anything breaking, and the adjustment doesn't need to make a sound to work. Most people feel a quick stretch or pressure, then their back or neck moves more easily. Some feel mildly sore for a day or two, like after a workout, and that fades quickly. If you're nervous about the quick hands-on adjustment, tell your chiropractor; gentler options are available.
