Arizona, and what TRICARE decides

TRICARE appears on the payer list for our Arizona clinics, which cover the Phoenix metro and the East Valley: Chandler, Deer Valley, Dunlap, Mesa, Peoria and Westgate. This page covers Arizona. If you are in Colorado, call before you book and our team will confirm where things stand for you rather than have you find out at the desk.

TRICARE is a benefit program rather than an ordinary commercial plan, and the plan option you are enrolled in does more to shape your care than the payer name does. Prime works through an assigned primary care manager with referrals for specialty care; Select works closer to a preferred-provider plan. Which one you hold is the first thing our team establishes when they verify benefits.

Call with your card, or request an appointment online, and we will tell you what applies to Pain Management, Physical Therapy, Chiropractic or Acupuncture under your option, and what a visit is likely to cost.

What TRICARE asks for

Your option, your referral and your authorization

Prime or Select. These are different animals. Prime routes specialty care through your primary care manager and generally needs a referral on file before a claim will pay. Select does not work that way. Knowing which you hold changes the whole conversation, so bring the card and say which option you are enrolled in.

Referral is not the same as authorization. A referral says who you may see. An authorization says what may be done. A TRICARE claim can need both, and they arrive from different places. Our team tracks them and tells you what is outstanding.

Active duty is handled differently again. Active duty service members have their own route through military treatment facilities and command channels, which sits outside what a civilian clinic can arrange. Say so when you call so nobody wastes your time.

Chiropractic under TRICARE is narrow. It is not a general benefit in the way commercial plans treat it. Our team will tell you plainly what your option covers before your first visit rather than after the claim.

Before you come in

What to bring, and how we check

Bring your insurance card and a photo ID, any imaging you already have with the report that goes with it, and a list of what you take. If a car accident is involved, bring your claim number and your adjuster’s name.

We verify your benefits before your first visit rather than after it. Call with your card in hand and our team will read your plan back to you: whether a referral is on file, what your deductible has left to run, what a visit is likely to cost and whether anything needs prior authorization. Request an appointment online at any hour and we will call you back to do the same.

TRICARE — FAQs

Does Mountain View Pain Center take TRICARE?

TRICARE is on the accepted payer list for our Arizona clinics. This page covers Arizona. If you are in Colorado, call before you book and our team will confirm where things stand.

Which Arizona clinics accept TRICARE?

All six: Chandler, Deer Valley, Dunlap in north Phoenix, Mesa, Peoria and Westgate in Glendale.

Do I need a referral to be seen?

Not from us. TRICARE Prime generally needs one on file from your primary care manager for a specialty claim to pay, and Select does not work that way. Our team checks which option you hold when they verify benefits.

What is the difference between Prime and Select?

Prime routes specialty care through an assigned primary care manager with referrals. Select behaves more like a preferred-provider plan. The option you hold shapes your care more than the payer name does.

Does TRICARE cover chiropractic care?

Chiropractic under TRICARE is narrow rather than a general benefit. What your option covers is read off your plan when our team verifies benefits, before the first visit rather than after the claim.

I am active duty. Can I be seen here?

Active duty service members route through military treatment facilities and command channels, which sits outside what a civilian clinic can arrange. Tell us when you call so nobody wastes your time.

Does TRICARE cover physical therapy here?

Physical Therapy is offered at our Arizona clinics and TRICARE is on the Arizona payer list. What your option authorizes, and whether a referral is needed first, is verified before you are seen.

What will my visit cost with TRICARE?

It depends on your option and your enrollment category. Call with your card and our team will give you the number in advance rather than on a statement afterwards.

Request an appointment online any time.

Day or night, seven days a week — and we’ll text you back to get you scheduled. No referral is needed, and our goal is to see you within the same week. Colorado scheduling runs through one number for every Colorado clinic: (720) 749-5599.
