University of Georgia- B.S.Ed. Kinesiology, Spanish. Medical College of Geogia- Master of Physician Assistant. Kim is an NCCPA board certified PA and Atlanta, Georgia native. Prior to moving to Colorado in 2023, she practiced for more than 10 years in a metro-Atlanta level 2 trauma center emergency department. Fluent in managing high and low acuity patients and performing a broad range of bedside procedures, Kim has a passion for coordinated patient care and efficiency. Kim is also a certified aesthetic PA injector. She specializes in neuromodulators, hyaluronic acid fillers and regenerative medicine. A former personal trainer at The Coca-Cola Company, Kim has a keen eye for musculoskeletal disease, conditioning and rehabilitation. Moving into the field of multi-disciplinary Pain Management marries all past experiences to serve her patients holistically. Her professional goal is to help her patients move towards greater functionality and enjoyment of life. She seeks to build mutually respectful relationships and trust! Married to her high school sweetheart, they have three small and active children. Kim is rarely bored; she holds additional degrees in snack making under pressure and pediatric injury triage. Her family loves camping, hiking and biking together. As an athlete, Kim loves the freedom and joy she experiences in covering ground in her running shoes, building physical strength and lasting relationships with her workout buddies.
Kim practiced for more than ten years in a metro-Atlanta level 2 trauma center emergency department. Emergency medicine is, more than anything, training in triage — in separating what is dangerous from what is frightening but not. That is an unusually useful instinct in pain medicine, where a great many people arrive having read a scan report that used words like degeneration and tear, and having concluded something much worse than the findings support.
It also means the red flags get taken seriously rather than reflexively. The presentations that need urgent assessment are a short and specific list, and someone who has worked a trauma department knows it without having to look it up.
Her first degree is in kinesiology, and she worked as a personal trainer before medicine, so conditioning and rehabilitation are not a foreign language to her — which matters when the plan is mostly loading tissue properly. She sees patients in English and Spanish.
The conditions she sees are lower back pain, neck pain, sciatica and nerve pain, herniated discs, arthritis and joint pain, hip pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, peripheral neuropathy and headaches and migraines.
Kim’s visits start with an examination and a diagnosis. Her first job is working out which structure is generating the pain, because that is what decides the plan — and imaging you bring is read alongside the examination rather than in place of it.
Northglenn is one of our four procedure clinics, so epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, joint injections, trigger point injections and radiofrequency ablation are performed in office there.
Physical Therapy, Chiropractic and Acupuncture are in the same building, so where the answer is rehabilitation rather than a needle it is a handover rather than another referral and another wait.
