Georgia Southern University- Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Emory University- Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Megan was born and raised in Illinois before moving to Atlanta, GA. She received her Bachelor of Science from Georgia Southern University and Master of Medical Science from Emory University. Prior to PA school, Megan worked as an Intra-operative Neuromonitoring Technician in New Orleans, LA monitoring brain and spinal cord activity during Neurosurgeries. Prior to moving to Colorado from Louisiana, she worked as a Physician Assistant for 6 years in several specialties including Orthopedic surgery and Interventional Pain Management. She has a strong background in orthopedic and neurological conditions. Her favorite part of working in Pain Management is being able to help improve her patient’s quality of life.In her free time, Megan enjoys spending time with her wife and 2 daughters exploring everything Colorado has to offer. Her hobbies include reading, baking, being outdoors, and traveling.
Megan worked as an intra-operative neuromonitoring technician in New Orleans, watching brain and spinal cord activity during neurosurgery. It is an unusual apprenticeship for pain medicine and a very direct one: you spend your working day looking at what the nervous system does when something is pressing on it, being decompressed, or being disturbed.
She then practiced for six years as a Physician Assistant across several specialties, including orthopedic surgery and interventional Pain Management. That combination — the nervous system from the inside and the joints and spine from the operating side — is why her stated strength is orthopedic and neurological conditions together rather than one or the other.
In practice it shows up as a low tolerance for vagueness. Which nerve, which level, which joint, and what does the examination actually demonstrate.
The conditions she sees are lower back pain, neck pain, sciatica and nerve pain, herniated discs, arthritis and joint pain, hip pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, peripheral neuropathy and headaches and migraines.
Megan’s visits start with an examination and a diagnosis. Her first job is working out which structure is generating the pain, because that is what decides the plan — and imaging you bring is read alongside the examination rather than in place of it.
Visits cover evaluation, medication management and ongoing pain care. Where an image-guided procedure — epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, joint injections, trigger point injections and radiofrequency ablation — is the right next step, it is scheduled at Northglenn or Interquest in north Colorado Springs, which are the Colorado clinics where those are performed in office.
Physical Therapy, Chiropractic and Acupuncture are in the same building, so where the answer is rehabilitation rather than a needle it is a handover rather than another referral and another wait.

Usually yes, and it is a common reason people come in. Pain that persists after an operation is not evidence that nothing works — it usually means the structure still generating the pain was not the one addressed, or that a second one has taken over. The first job is identifying which, and Megan’s background in both neuromonitoring and orthopedic surgery is directly relevant to that question.
